A walk through the area of Napeague where the Peconic Estuary meets (almost) the Atlantic Ocean. We'll walk alongside the iconic wetlands at Napeague Meadows, through the maritime dune with its heath communities and cranberry bogs and pick up the wetland again along Bendigo Road to the Devon Yacht Club. We'll be looking at the forces that make this area one of the most biodiverse on Long Island, as well as one of New York State's Landscapes of Statewide Significance. Meet 10 AM at Napeague State Park, end of Napeague Meadow Road, Amagansett.
