This hike takes us through the woods around the Fresh Pond in Amagansett, on the Paumanok Path between a few houses of the Bell Estate, a bit of a walk along Barnes Hole Road with a rest stop at The Barnes Landing Association Meeting House and then a bay beach walk to the Bell Estate Dock and return to Fresh Pond inlet beach. The hike is at a slow to moderate pace, with lots of stops for a bit of history. There are a few steep hills & full exposure on the beach walk. At the very end, hikers may need to take their shoes off; convert pants from long to short in crossing the shallow Fresh Pond inlet. Wear hiking shoes, shorts or convertible hiking pants. Bring Insect repellant, sunscreen/hat and water. Meet at the Fresh Pond Parking Lot. If you wish to eliminate the beach walk, carpool & leave a car at the Barnes Landing Bay Beach parking lot.
