This 4 mile-long hike includes some off-trail hiking and includes spectacular sections of the Fresh Pond woodlands and the Walking Dunes of Napeague. Learn about one of Long Island’s major conservation initiatives - Long Island’s Terrestrial Mammal Survey - and how to get involved. We’ll visit an area with sign of one of L.I.’s rarest mammals.
